Gunvenna
With the whole of Cornwall bathed in sun, we were camping on the north coast near St Minver, in overcast, dreary conditions. Had it not been for that our stewards would have scored a 9.5. Or maybe a 9.6. There’s more.
Camping is what you make it and we had a superb time, our GBBO contestants producing some rather nice cakes for us to eat Saturday afternoon. Mel and Steve, our aforementioned stewards, were said cooks so I’m going to score them a big fat Roostering 10!!!
Mel also did a ‘hunt the letter’ competition which gave us all the excuses we needed to circumnavigate the site seeking the secret phrase.. which most did… and we all got it right!
There were some odd goings on with lost socks with Rob B seemingly distraught about losing his. So if you did come across an odd sock, he’d be a happy bunny if he gets it back at some point!
He also tried his hand at washing up his dishes through BigBs caravan window. What a mild green fairy.
It was again good to see some new faces, so welcome.
Yours truly cooked a breakfast and there were a few rejects although personally I thought the sausages were ok. If anyone says they saw me eating bacon whilst the cooking was in progress, it was purely for medicinal purposes. A Rooster needs his bacon! Anyway, a chef always tastes his grub.
Sunday dawned bright and sunny and the site again allowed us to stay on, so a big thanks to James and the team.
Next week it’s Trewan Hall, St Columb Major so we will see you there. Ian and Claire, assisted by Pip are your stewards.
