Sourton
Buffers Bulletin - a Club Special
This weekend Rooster was unable to attend the rally as he was busy in his coop, so for this weekend only, welcome to Buffer's Bulletin.
Clare and myself would like to express our sincere thanks to the club for widening the rally area to include Devon. Thanks to Steve and Marie from Sourton Down campsite for hosting us.
Unfortunately, hosting our first rally in Devon we had an unwelcome visitor in the name of Storm Austen, who tried its best to disrupt our weekend. However, sadly a few members were unable to attend due to storm damage preventing them from even getting out of their village.
The weekend was still very well attended so thanks to all who braved the weather.
The site was quite well sheltered from the expected high winds so for us it didn't seem so bad, just heavy rain.
Breakfast gathering.
Due to the bad weather Saturday morning we decided to gather at The Pump & Pedal cafe just outside the main gate for a breakfast get together this was well attended with 24 people enjoying various breakfast offerings.
Some members took a nice walk over the weekend in between the rain to explore the area and went to the famous Highwayman pub to take in its hospitality and to look at the Halloween decorations on display which they said was very spooky indeed or did they mean the staff were spooky???
Buffer was on form in his official duties and if your name wasn't down on his list you weren't getting in. Unfortunately the site never informed him that they had made a booking for another customer and nearly turned him away, luckily we all found the funny side of it.
Thanks again to all who supported the rally it was indeed a great turnout considering the awful weather.
Safe travels, see you again soon B&C
