The Cornwall BCC Christmas Dinner Get Together
The Chairman promised us a fanfare reception with champagne on arrival for our Christmas meal event at Globe Vale, Scorrier.
When we turned up there wasn’t a single trumpeter to welcome us and the champagne bottles were empty! The blinds were drawn on the Chairman’s chariot so we can only guess what had happened to the champers.
Mince Pies, mulled wine and Dancing Queens.
On Friday afternoon, accompanied by seasonal tunes from Ian’s beatbox, Sue and Mel laid on mulled wine and homemade mince pies with clotted cream. Clare produced a rather tasty homemade ginger cake to further warm our cockles. Lin served up a rather lush homemade Stollen.
Everybody joined in and there was much merriment and catching up with friends before we broke for everyone to decorate their vans with lights and decorations, truly entering into the Christmas spirit.
We also welcomed the newest club member, Boo Boo. Dave and Wendy’s elf friend drove them onto site and parked the van straighter than Dave normally does. Good job Ed the Elf.

The Shaft Inn.
The onsite restaurant and bar at Globe Vale was the destination for the Saturday evening meal and we must say a huge THANK YOU to Sue for organising the dinner.
The bar seemed to be doing exceptionally well from us judging by the red noses, kazoos and party hats on display. So, yes, all in all, we had a great evening.
Sunday was the normal doom and gloom of packing up to go home, saying our goodbyes and wishing our friends a Merry Christmas.
To those attending the New Years meet at Trevarrion, have a great time.
All that’s left for me to do is wish all our camping friends a very merry Christmas and a Happy and Prosperous New Year.
