Short Shorts, Sabotage, and Spooky Vibes
Well, what a spooktacular weekend we’ve had at Trevarrian!Mother Nature clearly forgot it was October, treating the 19 units in attendance to unseasonably warm sunshine and barely a breeze.
In fact, conditions were so pristine we pitched entirely on the grass. This climate miracle brought immense joy to the club Treasurer, who was absolutely delighted to keep his legs on display in his trademark shorts for the entire event.
Rumour has it, the sight was the scariest thing seen all weekend.
On Saturday, a few treacherous campers deserted us, disappearing off to Truro for a concert. However, those who stayed behind to defend the campsite were rewarded with an absolute mountain of cake and some cut-throat Pumpkin Carving.
The Great Pumpkin Carve Off.
Jim Oliver was drafted in as our resident Halloween adjudicator—a task he took so seriously you’d think he was judging the Crown Jewels.
No tricks here, though; Sharon rightfully bewitched the judge and walked away with a very tasty treat.Later in the afternoon, we rolled into the Bowling tournament.
The Great 10 Pin Bowling Bowlathon
The battle for the highest score was fierce, with Ian leading the pack as we entered the final furlong. But, in a shocking twist of "good sportsmanship" (or perhaps just a desperate attempt to prove he wasn't cheating), Ian shared his master bowling secrets with Sean.
Big mistake. Huge. Sean took that knowledge, ran with it, and pipped Ian at the post with a spectacular final score. As darkness fell, the real ghouls came out to play. Several campervans were transformed with delightfully spooky decorations, and a horde of very happy trick-or-treaters successfully extorted us for a mountain of sweets.
All in all, a fantastic weekend.
Rooster was Roostin Toostin again so a huge Cockadoodledo to Clare for the report.
